Hello All -
We are having difficulties connecting to wifi, getting posts added to the blog and sending emails. We had to travel a distance in order to get this connection. My apologies, I thought this would be a lot easier than it has turned out to be.
Please note that you can add your email address where indicated on the home page of the blog home page, so that you will receive an email message when the blog has been updated. That way you won't have to keep checking for updates.
A quick update...
We have been working hard all week on the construction site of the vocational school in the Gipo Village. Trenches have been dug for the exterior and interior walls and we will hopefully be able to start setting the foundation by early next week. We have participated in the making of cement blocks, removing stumps, gathering gravel from the road and sand from the nearby creek. Everything is done by hand, there is no construction machinery available. On Wednesday, we attended the Liberian Annual Methodist Conference in Gbarnga. It's been a wonderful experience to work alongside the people from the Gipo and neighboring villages on this project. So many people will benefit from having this school available to them and we feel blessed to have been a part of this project.
After working at the construction site, we have made stops on our way back to the compound. We have visited the hospital on the mission compound, the Nimba County Rubber plantation and a pineapple farm.
We have a lot of pictures to share with you and will add them as internet connections allow. We may need to wait until we are back in Monrovia next Thursday.
Thanks to everyone that has contributed to this project, either through donations or keeping us in your prayers. More to come...
Blessings, Thea
